A study by Marie-Claude Dubois, PhD, Professor at the School of Architecture of Université Laval and researcher in physical ambiences, has proved that it is preferable to opt for clear glazed windows to benefit from the sun’s nourishing rays, which keep the body and mind alert. Visible sunlight breaks down into blue, green, yellow and red light. According to this study, “deficits of certain rays (especially blue) can cause drowsiness or depression. On the other hand, a lack of red light can cause visual fatigue or pallid faces, sad customers, etc.” (in Angers, Le Soleil, 2008) 

Bronze-tinted windows or windows counterglued to regular glass considerably reduce the quantity of blue light, which is essential to our photobiological balance.
